A sharing by a professional local director on producion tips and anecdotes will further inspire the young budding filmmakers amongst you! Innova Film Festival will be held on 14 March, 7pm at Cathay Cineleisure.

The Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) is kicking off its inaugural Digital Animation Film Contest in Singapore. Organised in collaboration with Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Interactive and Digital Media , the official education partner, this contest aims to raise awareness of competition law in Singapore and generate greater understanding of CCS’ work.

Contestants are challenged to come out with creative stories to tell about the practices and issues related to competition law through digital animation films. The contest opens NOW and closes on 23 March 2012. Contestants can stand a chance to win exciting cash prizes of up to $10,000 and also get an opportunity to showcase their work at various platforms both local ad international, and play a part in advocating the benefits of competition to the public.

There will be a briefing at NYP’s School of Interactive and Digital Media, Block M, LT M-1 (level 3) on Wednesday, 11 Jan 2012 at 1 pm for a briefing by experts from the CCS.

Prizes:

Best Short Film: the winner receives from CCS, a SGD 10,000 cash prize and a Certificate of Participation
First runner up: the winner receives a SGD 5,000 cash prize and a Certificate of Participation
Second runner up: the winner receives a SGD 3,000 cash prize and a Certificate of Participation
Three merit awards: each of the winners receives a SGD 1,000 cash prize and a Certificate of Participation

Dear Club Members,

Once again, the bi-annual Singapore Young Photographer Award is open for submission. This year, the organising committee is not only giving away attractive cash prizes but also a Project Internship to work with professional photographers. Details of the competition can be found on www.sypa.org.sg.

Like the 2010 competition, we are organising a workshop to give you an opportunity to learn from past winners and/or professional photographers. We cordially invite you to join the FREE workshop on 18 Feb 12 at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The workshop will comprise of two parts, a Techniques Sharing session by professional photographers and an Experiential Learning session where students get to submit shoots for critique by the speakers. We believe you will truly benefit from this hands-on learning experience.

Details of the workshop as follows:

Date/Time: Saturday 18 February 2012, 8:30am to 1:30pm. Refreshments will be provided.

Venue: Function Hall at Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Hi club, these are the details for the chalet (7DEC-9DEC). The chalet would be at Yacht Club Bungalow, Aloha Changi. We will be meeting at Pasir Ris MRT at 3:45pm on 7 December. Don't be late as we'll be taking a shuttle bus there! Do have your lunch before coming! For those who haven't pay, you can pay us on the day itself. :D We would be providing only 2 meals. So bring more money for the rest of the meals. (Around 30 bucks for activities too) BBQ would be on the second night. If you got FA, we will subsidize some on that day itself so you'll just have to inform us.

Things you have to bring:

At least 3 sets of clothes + under garments.

Toiletries - Shampoo, shower foam, toothbrush, toothpaste etc etc etc.

Towel

At least 3 plastic bags! For your dirty clothes etc.

Socks for night cycling and bowling in case we're going.

One pair of slippers

One pair of covered shoes

Your own medication ( if you need any )

Phone charger

Bring your electronic devices at your own risk as we won't be responsible for any loss of things. Take care of your own stuff!!
